I was like yeah sure luffy was saying he wanted to become king of the pirates but rayleigh didn't explicitly say roger wanted to become pirate king just that people called him that so I am SURE shanks is saying luffy has the same dream we don't know about as Roger. Which lines up bc luffy said shanks knew of it and then in wano ace tells yamato and he says roger said the same thing and ace also knew of it!!! Which is crazy that it's set up this early but EVERYTHING is being set up here

the sheer amount of manga I read in middle school is rearing back up to haunt me. like the amount of truly awful illiad length shonen/martial arts manga i not only read but was caught up with was sooooo egregious brother i was reading weekly updates of fairy tail at like 13 why was i doing that
#and that thing was NOT GOOD#i remember catching up with IPPO and being like actually proud but then i fell off immediately cause its a million chapters long#ippo wasnt awful i kinda stand by ippo. kenichi was awful though and i still read 500 chapters of that#but around where i caught up was when it really started sucking/feeling pointless so it was easy to fall off#and thats just the shounen i read waves upon waves of magical girl manga. pretty much everything except utena#which came to me later in life when i was more ready to accept it#i was caught up on my hero before it got really big too but i was def in high school for that#but yeah idk ive been thinking abt how i only really consume anime instead which doesnt make sense cause reading all the shit that im doing#like. well. one piece. would be so much faster if i just read it

#I’ll take people not understanding the point of filler chapters and a story not being over yet for 500#media literacy#I’ll take mischaracterization for 300#you can criticize a piece of media#I do it all the time#but pls for the love of god understand that filler chapters aren’t a bad thing#they’re extremely good for character interactions#and a nice breather after action filled chapters#however there is a problem when it’s like#Naruto and one piece levels of filter#everyone complaining about the last four jjk chapters and I’m like dude I’m enjoying the filler and ending#after nearly a year and a half of pure action I like THIS#everyone is getting to mourn and shit and have interactions that weren’t able to happen during the action#I’m very much eating this up#everyone saying Gege Akutami forgot elements of the story hasn’t been paying attention

I got a comment on the first fic I’ve posted in years and literally cried. After getting my writing degree I got so insecure about my writing, as though I’d never write again, I was a lost cause to perfectionism and was never happy with anything I wrote. Posting fanfiction again is a step forward and yeah, I guess I just wanted to say thank you to anyone who took time to read it 🥹
#rambles#it was a short drabble but it took so much to post it#am v sleep deprived so I’m v emotional but yeah#I have like five drabbles (like 300 words each) and two one shots of 500 words#idk if I should post the drabbles separately because they’re so short or make them a multi chapter piece#still getting used to this#fanfic writing#basically got a writing degree with first class honours and then refused to let anyone read my writing ever again 😂😂#it’s the anxiety and depression and cripplingly low self esteem for me 😂🙃
